Rising Sophomore Success Program
FAQs

  • The Driehaus Rising Sophomore Success Program is a by-invitation-only program supporting business students in their transition from freshman to sophomore year.

You'll complete fun quests on a variety of topics, including time management, building confidence, sustaining focus, financial literacy, building a personal board of directors, and aligning your degree with your career purpose. As you progress through the program, you’ll unlock impactful rewards and earn incentives. There is no cost to participate.

This program is supported by a partnership between the Driehaus College of Business and Archer Career.

  • This is a by invitation only program for select business students in the Driehaus College of Business.

Priority is given to students who have completed Business 101 with a grade of C- or better.

  • This program is designed to help you succeed at DePaul and build confidence. You’ll gain academic and career skills, connect with mentors, and have fun along the way. Specifically for students who faced academic challenges in their first year, we’ll help you turn those setbacks into comebacks as you kick off sophomore year with the tools, mentorship, and momentum to thrive.

The program runs from the end of Spring Quarter in your freshman year to the start of Autumn Quarter in your sophomore year. It starts with an in-person launch event, where you’ll meet fellow participants, engage in team-building, and get a preview of the skills you’ll learn—some of which can help with finals.

Online modules open in June, and you’ll check in every other week with a mentor starting mid-June.

Peer mentor sessions will also help you review lessons, set goals, and track progress. You can expect to spend approximately 1 hour per week working through the online modules and engaging with mentors.

The program wraps up with an in-person graduation ceremony at the start of Autumn Quarter your sophomore year. We’ll celebrate your success and connect you to the people and resources that will keep you on track during your time at DePaul.

  • Every student’s journey freshman year is a series of highs and lows. While no doubt you’ve had some successes (and we celebrate those with you!), some of the “lows” you may have experienced are challenges faced by many college students, including managing new responsibilities, feeling overwhelmed, balancing school with work and/or family responsibilities, commuting to campus, paying for college, and navigating a new environment.

If you are looking for support to navigate these challenges and start sophomore year with the mindset and tools to help you succeed, this program is for you.
